InnoGenomics will be exhibiting at the AAFS 75th Anniversary Conference in Orlando, FL. Please stop by booth #427 to learn more about our products.
Is your lab getting the most out of your sexual assault samples?
- Nearly 50% of sexual assault samples that screen positive for male DNA don’t result in a full male profile
- Over 1/3 of sexual assault samples that screen positive for male DNA don’t result in an uploadable CODIS profile
- Most labs only recover 5%-30% of the sperm sexual assault samples
SpermX is a novel differential extraction method designed to capture sperm much more efficiently during the differential extraction process. Recently an inter-laboratory study was conducted with the University of Central Florida, the Center of Forensic Science Research and Education, and InnoGenomics Technologies to compare SpermX with conventional differential extraction methods. SpermX was shown to capture significantly more male DNA with less female carryover and to produce more informative STR profiles.
Using SpermX can help you streamline your SAK processing. The SpermX protocol can be fully automated on the Hamilton Star AutoLys SAE instrument. SpermX can also be efficiently processed manually in batches of 24 samples.
